The IEM8000 system consists of a base unit and a number of aerial amplifiers. The base unit, housed in a 19in 2U rack, combines up to eight IEM channels and then split out to the eight outputs. The input connectors to the base unit are BNC and N-Type for the outputs. The base unit can be located centrally together with the IEM transmitters.
Each output of the base unit is connected to an antenna located in the zone to be covered via a low loss cable. A linear aerial power amplifier, located just before each antenna, is used to overcome the RF losses such that an RF power level of 50mW/channel is available at the antenna inputs. The aerial amplifiers are line powered and are located as near as possible to the antennas.
