Filter Technologies

SARAS utilises a range of technologies to realise the most compact and cost-effective filtering solution. A large range of filter designs are currently available in:

  • Lumped Element – versatile and commonly used in applications where small size is required – consists of discrete capacitors and inductors soldered to a substrate in various schematic configurations. Offers: Compact Size, Surface/PCB mount or connectorized, Wide range of topologies, Designs to 3GHz and beyond
  • Tubular – offer broad stopbands and high-power handling capability and are ideal for harmonic rejection.
  • Ceramic – best suited for frequencies between 200MHz and 8GHz, using high dielectric resonators. Offer: low insertion loss, low cost, and small size.
  • Cavity – available in Machined Combline and Interdigital designs, cavity filters can offer high power handling, low loss and high levels of rejection
  • Waveguide – can be used in the frequency range 1GHz to in excess of 100GHz. They are used in applications where high-power handling and low insertion loss is required.
  • Microstrip and Suspended Substrate – printed circuit technology that can be used for both broadband and narrowband filters from 500MHz to 40GHz. Offer: Compact Design, High Reliability and Repeatability, 500MHz to 40GHz.
